Alcohol Licence in South Shields for famous Fish & Chips retailer

World famous Fish & Chip Restaurant “Colman’s of South Shields is set to apply for a new premises licence allowing the retailer to sell a glass of wine with it’s legendary fish & chips. Five members of Staff from Colman’s have under gone training for the new licensing qualification the award for personal licence holders (APLH). National training provider (PLT) Personal Licence Training Limited provided on site licence training for the famous South Shields fish & chip retailer. Colman’s is set to expand the size of it’s restaurant operation and have purchased an adjoining retail unit which will double the size of the famous restaurant. In recent years Colman’s have recieved many national and regional awards for their legendary fish & chips, and served a host of famous celebrities including former Prime Minister Mr Tony Blare and famous celebrity chef Garry Rhodes. The family run business has been serving it’s famous Fish & Chips and Seafood’s for over four generations. The original business was started in 1905 in a small hut located on South Shields foreshore which progressed to a large restaurant and takeaway. Then in 1926 Colman’s relocated to the Ocean Road, South Shields, Tyne & Wear where the restaurant remains today. Colman’s owners Richard & Frances Ord said ” we have been requested by our customers to introduce an alcohol licence as we have many tourists and visitor to our restaurant, who expect a glass of wine or champagne with their meal”.
