Dedicated server up-date for PLT
Due to high volumes of online traffic and online bookings for personal licence applications and training courses the PLT Group have been busy over the Easter holidays up-dating their dedicated server to give them the resources to handle thousands of requests to access their website network. A spokesperson from PLT’s information technology team said:”we have had to up-grade our dedicated server as we are experiencing high volumes of traffic and our website content is increasing every week due to new blog articles being added across our network of 6 websites. We need to ensure our customers do not experience slow loading websites or server errors when booking online courses or viewing any of our content. Our new dedicated server upgrade will give us three times more bandwidth and disk space than our original dedicated server has at the moment. Hopefully the transition to a larger dedicated server should go smoothly without our clients having to deal with any disruptions or technical problems on any of our websites”.
PLT reported over 3,000 website visits over the Easter break which resulted in some slow server issues on a few of it’s websites. Upgrading to a larger dedicated server will give PLT the resources required to handle thousands of requests to access their websites at anyone time.
The company is also due to add some upgraded online e-learning courses to it alcohol licensing service including, the Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) level 2 and several online learning tools such as mock exams and other interactive experiences. PLT said: “it could not move forward with this until it’s server had been up-graded to cope with the extra demand. We already host a total of six websites all related to the alcohol licence trade add additional content without this up-grade could result in technical issues for our clients”.
The bad news is the guys at alcohol licence have also been blamed for a massive increase in web based traffic, must be down to our wonderful blog posts we keep posting 😉 Happy Easter Everyone and keep on reading!
