The Big Pub Quiz” in aid of St Richard’s Hospice – 20th October 2011
St Richard’s Hospice cares for patients and families in Worcestershire who are living with cancer and other life threatening illnesses. Each year we give free care and support to over 2,200 patients and family members. This year they need to raise £5.4 million to continue providing their services free of charge and would be delighted if you could join them in their latest challenge “The Big Pub Quiz”.
The aim is to get as many pubs in the area to hold a pub quiz on the same night. They will prepare the pack containing the question and answer sheets together with a handy “Tips for running a successful quiz” sheet, which is enclosed. All you need to do is provide the venue, get as many teams as possible to join in and reap the rewards of a full bar! If you already hold a regular quiz night don’t be put off….why not choose to donate that week or months proceeds to St Richard’s. If you are unable to host the quiz on the 20th you could hold it on another night in that week.
There will be a league table and the pub that raises the most money will receive “The Big Pub Quiz Trophy”. They will provide a prize for the team with the highest score overall. You can customise your quiz night as much as you like, offering prizes for your winning team, or perhaps a round of drinks on the house. You can keep it as simple as you want or you could include additional games or activities to increase your chance of topping the league table. If you want any help with ideas or planning our Fundraising department will be only too happy to help you…. After all, the more money you raise, the happier we all are!!
The event will take place on Thursday 20th October with participating pubs and the league table appearing on the hospice website and we will do our best to publicise this event as much as possible.
The Website can be found at : www.strichards.org.uk
